A city destined for a legacy written into the very meaning of its name, Florence relishes in its grandeur history of art, wealth, conflict and rebirth. Its Italian name, Firenze - meaning "to flourish," - tells us of the city’s upbringing, present, and future, as the heart of the intellectual revival scene in Europe bound to forever be in its prosperous bloom.

Vailed in air scorched dry by the star, the city scents of sun-warmed leather crafts and time-seen paper pages, the linen and silk stores and antique markets decorating the interiors of the meandering streets, leading speciously to its most charming shops. The city’s exterior, sandstone and marble builds which carry the familiar grace of the city’s prosperous picture, softens the image of Florence from below as the rooftops, seared from the setting sun’s glare, serve as a reminder of the city’s fires.

Where the stone tells its stories from the cracks, the people of Florence came before any of the marble did, and are the very embodiment of the bloom inherited within the rock walls, for the Florentines walked the city before the name did. With an impression of a strong character and moral revolve, the people of Florence resemble the statues seen within the high columns, window displays and gallery plazas, their internal fire burning outward to their stone facades vitrifying them into the shining, posing sculptures in their city amongst foreign faces, a city which had triumphed over them.

But while often forgotten to be seen as being of more, these weeping angels are never always in hiding; sometimes it just takes an ardent eye to notice a spark of passion, an act of justice or slip of a wise word where there are wings and a heart of a strong carved stone.
